Why Blog

July 18, 2007 at 5:42 pm (Chelsea Hotel)

I never felt a need to have a blog before this:

The minority shareholders ousted Stanley Bard, majority owner and manager of the Chelsea hotel for fifty plus years:

From what I’ve read, it looks like some sort of legal hocus pocus that cost Stanley his job. During that time, virtually everyone in American arts and letters lived here or visited. But it was also a comfortable palce for people like me, who aren’t artists, unless you consider my spectacular garden a work of art (and then Mother Nature would get as much credit as I would). In 1997 I was lucky enough to stay with a friend there for a month. I’ve dreamed of going back, but I won’t now. My friend has left, but I would have paid to stay there on my next visit to New York City, which was supposed to be alter this year. But I don’t want to give money to people like this:

Scummy, right? I don’t know David Elder, and I have never read Piri Thomas, but I think its just rotten to try to keep his inheritance from him. I will read Piri Thomas now. It jst gets me down. the whole world is just about who has the best lawyers/guns and the most money.
